Dennis L Schneider

Private services for Dennis L. Schneider age 64 of Cedar Rapids, IA., formerly of Albert Lea will be held at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home.  Rev. James Kassera will officiate.  Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery with military honor’s accorded by the Freeborn County Servicemen’s organization.  
Dennis died on Monday, October 29, 2012 at St. Lukes Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa surrounded by his loving family.
Dennis L. Schneider was born on April 26, 1948 in Albert Lea the son of Wilbur and Dorothy (Hanson) Schneider.  He was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church.  Dennis attended and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1966.  He served his country for four years in the US Army including one year in Vietnam.  Dennis worked for Rockwell International in Cedar Rapids, IA., for sixteen years in the drafting department. He also worked security part time for many years at Otis Tailgaters in Cedar Rapids.  Dennis enjoyed fishing, golf, playing softball and shooting Pool.
Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Schneider, Albert Lea, siblings: Wanda (Gary) Mitsch, Maple Grove, MN.,  Ronald Schneider, Virginia,  Janet (Greg) Ackland Manchester, MN., and Dawn Schneider and special friend Jerri Baas, Albert Lea.  Many nieces and nephews.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur, brother, Dean and sister, Julie.  And his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Denny will be greatly missed by his loving family and many very special friends in Cedar Rapids, IA.
