Delbert Kermit Wegner was born on February 17, 1920 to Albert and Emma (Bauer) Wegner in Lakefield, MN. He grew up and attended school in Lakefield. On December 15, 1944 Delbert was united in marriage to Eleanor Elizabeth Andersen in Albert Lea. Delbert worked as a welder at Queen Products for 31 years. In 1958 the couple purchased the family farm and he has lived there since. Delbert was a founding member at Zion Lutheran Church where he had served as a Sunday school teacher and elder. He was also a member of Kiwanis and the Elks Club. Delbert enjoyed playing pool and golf; and loved to camp and fish with his wife. They enjoyed being snowbirds for 13 years in Texas. He loved to ride in the tractor and combine with his son and grandson.
Survivors include his children Roxanne (Gary) Olson, Sandy (Mark) Friday and Mike (Rhonda) Wegner; grandchildren Debbie Bina, Jeff (Sara) Olson, Brad (Tessa) Friday, Jenny Friday, Josh (Anne) Wegner and Sarah (Chad) Gehring; great-grandchildren Tyler, Austin, Jenna, Jacob, Max, Isabelle, Olivia and Andrew; sister Joyce Klenken, sisters-in-law Alice Wegner and Delores Wegner, special friend Gloria Keithley, and many nieces and nephews.
Delbert was preceded in death by his parents; wife Eleanor; infant son Steven; sister Gladys Christensen; brothers Merv, Harlan, Leo and Luther; and father and mother-in-law Chris and Marie Andersen.
