DeAnna L. Nelson

DeAnna LaRay Nelson was born on December 14, 1943, to Arthur and Gertrude Bell Foley in Albert Lea, MN. She attended Hammer and Hawthorne Elementary schools and was a 1961 graduate of Albert Lea High School. She also attended the University of Minnesota. DeAnna married Terry Nelson on June 26, 1971 at Grace Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. She was employed for 42 years at Security Bank in Albert Lea as the Internal Auditor and Vice-President. DeAnna loved camping and always looked forward to going. She enjoyed taking the VIC club on trips. She enjoyed collecting the North Pole Village and Hallmark ornaments. DeAnna took pride in her gardening and enjoyed golfing. She loved Peanut, her adopted dog, fishing trips up north and cousin's parties. DeAnna always looked forward to spending her time with her granddaughter, Paige. Survivors include her husband, Terry; son Brian Nelson; daughter, Lisa Nelson; granddaughter, Paige Norton of St. Paul, MN; brother, James Bonnie Foley of Glenville; sister, Darline Larry LaRue of Albert Lea; brother-in-law, Steve Kathy Nelson of Albert Lea; nephews Jason Dayna LaRue and son Zachary of Clarks Grove, Troy LaRue of Albert Lea, Ryan Nelson of Minneapolis and Ricky Fenske of Washington; nieces, Sherrie Dean Meyer and family of Apple Valley, Lorie Jerome Miller and family of Ceylon, and Kari Nelson of Winona; DeAnna was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Arline Mapson.
