David Paul Deaver was born November 30, 1955, in Onawa, IA, to Mary Williams and Duncan Deaver. He grew up in Boone, IA, graduating in 1974 from Boone Senior High School. After 20 years with Chicago Northwestern Railroad as a brakeman and conductor, David relocated to Phoenix, AZ, to be closer to his family. He died peacefully of a brain tumor on August 16, 2006, at the home of his sister in Albert Lea, MN, surrounded by his loving family and supported by his faith. David is survived by his father, Duncan Deaver of Albert Lea; sisters: Mary Ann Bowman-Taylor Barry of Albert Lea, Kathy Lonergan David of Stillwater, OK, Edra Fouts Stephen of Norwalk, IA, and Nancy Moore of Lake Mills, IA; nieces and nephews: Andrew Bowman and fiancee, Karen Olson of Eau Claire, WI, Brenda Lonergan Huff John of Stillwater, OK, Michael Fouts Valarie of Waukee, IA, Jill Fouts and Jenny Fouts and fiance, Scott Lefton of Los Angeles, CA, Jacob Reynoldson of San Diego, CA, and Caitlin and Mariah Moore of Lake Mills, IA. David was preceded in death by his mother; brother, Fredrick; niece, Susan Pickrel; and his grandparents. David will be long remembered with his dimples, bright smile, and sparkling eyes for the joy and humor he shared with all. He was a big man with a big heart and a gentle love for all God's creatures. Now he is reunited with his faithful companion, "Scooner." Little Brother, now you and mom will know all the secrets. We will meet you on the other side, D. P. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Crossroads Community Hospice or Christ Episcopal Church.
