Darwin D. Mesner

Darwin Dale Mesner was born June 28, 1938, to Erwin and Frieda Tesch Mesner in Paulina, IA. He attended school in Paulina and finished in Tombstone, AZ, before enlisting in the United States Army. After his discharge, he continued his education at Northwestern College in Orange City, IA.. On August 30, 1975, Darwin was united in marriage to JoAnn Bayness in Stillwater, MN. He was the Manager of Natrogas Co. of Farmington until his retirement in 1990. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, JoAnn; their children: Teena and husband, Lynn, Jill and husband, Gary Schmidgall, and Jacki and husband, Jon Ness; daughter-in-law, Kelli Mesner; grandchildren: Alex, Thomas, Jake, Jessica, Justin, Aaron, Jon, and Mikayla, Jeff, Jake, and special granddaughter, Kadie Jo; brother DuWayne and wife, Marge Mesner; sisters, Pastor Darlene Sickelka and Geraldine and husband, Leonard Clausen; mother-in-law, Anna Mary Bayness; and numerous other family members and friends. Darwin was preceded in death by his parents; son, John, nephew, Randy Mesner; and brothers-in-law, Donald Sickelka and Orlan Stamer. Darwin died Sunday, July 31, 2005, at his home at Hollandale. At his request, there will be no services.
