Crystal Skogheim

April 2, 1995 — March 1, 2025

It is with very heavy hearts that on Saturday, March 1st, our beautiful daughter gained her wings and flew up to heaven and was greeted by her best friend Jasmine, her grandparents, and her pets that went before her.

Crystal was born on April 2nd,1995 in Albert Lea, Mn to Steve and Char Skogheim. She graduated from Central Senior High School and then attended Riverland College in Austin where she studied Liberal Arts. She was engaged to David Mccullough.

As a small child, Crystal loved the outdoors and all animals. She loved picking up worms, bugs and looking at them. Her family spent many nights driving through the State Park looking for deer and whatever animals they could find. She loved to fish and be by the lake. She still loved all these things up to the day that she gained her wings. Now she will be doing all of this with her best friend and her grandparents.

Two more things that Crystal loved were SpongeBob SquarePants. She watched those shows over and over and over again with her dog Deuce by her side. The second was the Wild hockey team. She attended games when she could. She had a Wild sign that her friend Hal had made for her and proudly displayed it in the living room of her grandparents’ home that she had recently purchased.

Also, Bigfoot, we cannot forget all those times watching those shows with her dad and going to concerts with her mom.

She is survived by her parents, Steve and Char; brother Ty (girlfriend Crystal); fiancé David Mccullough; grandmother Linda Spain; uncles Ken (Deb), Dave (Sue), Bob (Sheila); aunt Theresa (Craig) Knudtson; Grandpa Bill Robertson; godfathers Bobby Dalton, Tom Turnbull, Gary Vinge; best friend Kaylee (Peterson) Benson; cousins and many friends.

Preceded in death by grandparents Ken and Della Skogheim, Ervin and Mattie Wachlin and her best friend Jasmine Evans.

Everyone is encouraged to wear SpongeBob, Wild or Bigfoot apparel to honor Crystal’s memory.

The family would like to thank the Albert Lea Fire Department, Mayo Ambulance, the Medical Examiner, her cousin Brad Skogheim and everyone that has sent messages to the family. The outpouring support and love we have been shown is overwhelming in an incredibly good way.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 11 AM to 2 PM at Bayview Freeborn Funeral Home on Sunday, March 9.
