Memorial services for Connie Joanne Neubauer, age 81, of Albert Lea, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at West Freeborn Lutheran Church. Rev. Mark Hillmer will officiate. Interment will be at West Freeborn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Connie Joanne Neubauer was born September 25, 1934 in Manchester, the daughter of Walter and Ardis (Hallum) Hanson. Connie grew up in Manchester, attended Manchester grade school and graduated from Freeborn High School. On May 16, 1953, Connie was united in marriage to Donald Neubauer in Wells. The couple made their home in Manchester and later Albert Lea. In 1968 they moved back to Manchester where they owned and operated Don and Connie’s Station. She was a member of West Freeborn Lutheran Church and was active in altar guild. Connie was a perfectionist, especially when it came to her sewing, knitting and crocheting. She was also a wonderful baker, always baking pies, cakes and cookies.
Survivors include her husband Don; children Mike (Marvel) Neubauer and Cindy (Bill Christianson) Johnson; grandchildren Allison (David) Brooks, Daniel (Dara) Neubauer, Stacey (Tim) Beyer and Lucas (Kacey Pagel) Johnson; great-grandchildren Justin, Kyle, Valin, Cali, Cole, Makenzie and Hunter; sister Doris Davis; in-laws Alice Hendrickson, Roy Neubauer, Ray (Sharon) Neubauer, Grace Staloch, Rita (Russ) Bathke and Becky Neubauer and several nieces and nephews.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents; sister Phyllis (Everett) Paulson and in-laws Harlan Davis, Chuck (Doris) Neubauer, Greg Neubauer, Gerald Hendrickson, Mickey Neubauer and Andy Staloch.
