Clifford Elmer Mansmith was born December 20, 1915, to Elmer and Bertha Hite Mansmith in Hartley, IA. He grew up in the Okoboji, IA, area. Clifford married Bernice Monroe on January 14, 1938. She preceded him in death. Clifford later married Arlene Gaslin. He was self-employed in many different fields including owning a Red Owl grocery, a resort, and was a former Mayor of Fulda, MN. He enjoyed woodworking, cooking, hunting, fishing, and watching baseball, especially the Minnesota Twins. Survivors include his wife, Arlene of St. Peter; his son, Ronald and wife, Joan Mansmith of Albert Lea; his daughter, Bernice and husband, Raymond Landberg of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Michael and Amy and their daughter, Kristal of Albert Lea, Mark and Erica and their children, Emily and Matthew of Carthage, NC, Jennifer and Scott Needham and their children, Samuel and Josiah of Farmington, Christa and Jim Oldsberg and their children, Ryan and Katie of Jordan, and Deb Siebenaler and her children, Nathan and Beth of St. Louis Park; step daughter, Bonnie and husband, Richard Compart of Nicollet; step grandchildren: Marc and Peggy Compart of Lehigh, IA, Dean and Kaye Compart, James and Diana Compart, Chris and Rochelle Compart, all of Nicollet, Ken and Heidi Baker of St. Peter, Gerri and Dennis Hilgers of St. Paul, Chris and DeAnne Sprank of St. Paul; and Kathi Hilgers of Brooklyn Center; 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Clifford was preceded in death by his first wife, Bernice and brothers and sisters.
