Mike died Sunday, June 28th at St. John’s Lutheran Community.
Clayton “Mike†Merle Thompson was born July 9, 1939 in Albert Lea, the son of Carl and Mabel (Halvorson)
Thompson. On August 19, 1994 Mike was united in marriage to Judith Hanson in Albert Lea. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, fishing, and spending time with his family. Mike loved his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.
Survivors include his wife Judy; children Susan (Bradley) VanRyswyk, Kenneth (Lori) Thompson and Cindy (Gregory) VanRyswk; step-children Lowell Helmers and Bradley (Jennifer Lovelace) Helmers; grandchildren Grant VanRyswyk, Amanda VanRyswyk, Krystal (Bryan) Gravelle, Kimberly (Jake) Sullivan, Courtney Thompson, Brody Vanryswyk; great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Mason, Alyvia, Laycie and Finley; siblings Doris Trustem, Shirley Larson, Ray Thompson and Lawrence Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Margie, Helen, Robert and Mary.
