Clara was born on May 21, 1921 to Isaac and Olga Anderson in New York Mills, MN. She was one of nine children. Clara graduated from New York Mills High School in 1939. After graduation, she worked in Minneapolis at the FORUM cafeteria where she met her future husband, Vern. They lived in Wisconsin, Indiana and Colorado prior to moving to Albert Lea in 1962. Clara worked as a homemaker and then as a pharmacist assistant at Northpark Drug Store from 1965-1971 when she retired to do childcare for her grandchildren. Clara enjoyed sewing, baking, playing dominoes with her birthday club. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Carol Gerald Frydenlund of Albert Lea, Peggy Arlen Holland of Chaska, and Shirley Jim Cook of Prior Lake; grandchildren, Travis Denise Frydenlund, Kirsten Jesse Rueckert, David Holland, Chris Holland, Michelle Blue McDonald and Nicole Jamey VanGelder; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Thelma Victor Buth; brothers, Erwin Jean Anderson and Marvin Anderson; brother-in-law, Harold Krause; many nieces and nephews. Clara was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 55 years, Vern, in 2001. Blessed be her memory.
