Christopher James Hallum was born February 2, 1971, to James G. and Mary J. Hubbard Hallum in Albert Lea. He graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1989. During high school and after graduation, Chris worked at Woodvale in Albert Lea and Rochester. He became involved in restaurant management in Rochester and then moved to Ohio, where he worked for the Dick Clark organization. In May 2001, Chris returned to Albert Lea and became the Manager at the American Legion. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Eagles, and SAL. Chris was an avid golfer and enjoyed many good times with his "golf buddies." The time he spent with his family and friends and his beloved dog, "Summit" was very important to him. Survivors include his parents; brothers, Michael and his wife, Judy Nelson and Tom Nelson; niece, Tiffany and her husband, Sean Krueger; nephew, Chad and his wife, Michelle Nelson; many aunts, uncles, and special cousins; and his many, many loving friends. Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Mary Hubbard and George and Rhoda Hallum, uncle Roger Hallum and Joanne Hallum. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Grace Lutheran Church, Crossroads Community Hospice, American Cancer Society, or the Honor Guard of the American Legion. Chris' smile and his infectious "giggle" will live on in the hearts and minds of many.
