Charles Walter Meister peacefully passed away Friday, December 13, 2024,surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 19th at Bayview Funeral Home. Fellowship will follow directly. Reverend Kent Otterman will be officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery at a later date.
Charles was born June 15, 1945 to Charles William and Frances (Meyer) Meister in Saint Paul, MN. He attended school in Albert Lea, MN. As a child he enjoyed drawing and dreamed of working for Walt Disney. He married his California girl, Lorna Meister, on November 22nd of 1985 and embraced his role as step-father to Tammi and Steven. He worked primarily as a car salesman and truck driver. He proudly owned his semi and took meticulous care of it as he traveled across the country. In his later years, he enjoyed his time as a bus driver for District 241.
Charles was an active member and officer of the Elk’s and Eagles Club for many years. He was also involved in the Low Bucks Car Club and enjoyed driving and restoring classic cars. One of his cars was featured in “Hot Rod” magazine. He loved traveling with family and friends; especially with their dear friends Pete and Elaine Oakland, his sister-in-law Reva Jackson, and his brother-in-law Larry (Morene) Wolfswinkel. He enjoyed many family trips to Breezy Point, MN. He loved to learn about history and watch westerns. He was a proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He spent his time with family,friends and his best buddy and pet Emma. He was known for his loving, warm, quiet, calm demeanor, and great sense of humor.
Charles is survived by his loving wife Lorna Meister, children Steven (Kristi) Kreun, Tammi (Gary) Tritle, Beth (Joe) Raper, and grandsons Taylor Spooner, Trevor Spooner, Tanner Spooner (Tara Callahan), Steven A. Kreun, Jonathan Kreun (Ashton Kogel), William Kreun, Joseph Kreun, Timothy Kreun, Andrew Raper, and Brion Raper, and his great-grandsons: Oakley Spooner, Derek Navarro, Bentley Spooner, and Ella Spooner, his sisters-in-law Reva Jackson and Morene Wolfswinkel.
He is preceded in death by his sister Janet Meister, his parents Charles and Frances Meister, his in-laws, John and Agnes Wolfswinkel, his brother in laws, Larry Wolfswinkel, John Jackson and Ceaver(Ethel) Wolfswinkel and great-grand-daughter, Tanlyn Spooner.
