Caroll D. Arends was born on March 6, 1926 in Blue Earth, MN., the son of George and Mabel Larson Arends. He attended rural school and graduated from Wells High School. Caroll worked on the farm in rural Wells and served his country in the US Navy for 2 years. After his discharge he returned to the farm where moved with the family to a farm in Rock Dell in 1948, then to Oakland, MN. Caroll then purchased a farm in rural Glenville. On April 27, 1957 he was united in marriage to Donna Meixner in Owatonna. Caroll worked in maintenance at Streaters and delivered RV's through out the country. In his spare time he enjoyed dancing, fishing, listening to old time music, woodworking, playing board games, bingo, collecting arrow heads and rock hunting. Most important to him was spending time with his family. Caroll was active in the Senior Citizens, the Eagles and 4-H with his children as well as a member of Round Prairie Lutheran Church. Survivors include his children; Keith Arends, Tucson, Az. and Jodi Wild, Byron, MN. Grandchildren; Elizabeth and Katherine Wild. Sisters-in-law; Marlys Arends and Norma Arends, Hayfield, MN., Brothers-in-law; Marvin and Beverly Meixner and Robert and Sharon Meixner, all of Owatonna. Nieces and nephews; Trudy Redford, Toni Sonenszajn, Barbara Nelson, Linda Arends, Marcia and Jim Kraus, Mavis and Dale Schmidt, Mark and Claudia Meixner, Terri and George Chapple, Steve and Laurie Meixner and Jill Meixner and Jack Bingham. . Caroll was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Shelli Arends, wife, Donna. Sisters; Delores and Betty and brothers, Orville and Lowell. Memorials preferred to Round Prairie Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
