Carmen died Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Albert Lea.
Carmen Mavis Mundale was born December 17, 1926 in Albert Lea, the daughter of Chris and Clara (Hovland) Mundale. Carmen grew up in Albert Lea until the age of 12, she then moved with her family to Alden where she graduated from high school. After graduation Carmen attended teaching school in Wells. She taught for several years before moving to Washington, DC where she worked as a secretary at an insurance office and lived with her sister. Carmen later returned to Minnesota. She lived in St. Paul for many years and worked in the mail room at the St, Paul Post office. Carmen was a faithful member of Faith Alliance Church and enjoyed weekly Bible study. In April of this year, Carmen moved back to the family farm near Alden due to her failing health. Blessed be her memory.
Survivors include her sisters, Phyllis K Mundale and Bonnie L (Bill) Ashpole and one niece and three nephew.
Carmen was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Jean Mundale and Dawn (Ken) Barney; brother-in-law, Mervin Michaelson and nephew Dennis Ashpole.
