C. Joanne Petersen

C. Joanne Petersen was born on December 16, 1932 to Lester and Gladys Owens Levi in Anita, Iowa. She grew up in Clearfield, IA and graduated from Clearfield High School. On September 22, 1951 she married Kenneth I. Petersen in Clearfield, IA. Joanne was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for several years and most recently was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Elks Does and Eagles Club and also volunteered at the YMCA. Joanne loved all kinds of animals especially caring for her dogs. She was a wonderful seamstress, had an eye for fashion and enjoyed wearing stylish hats. Through the years, Joanne worked as a sales clerk at Leuthold's and Stadheim Jewelers. She was a devoted mother and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include: son Ken and wife Susan Petersen, their children, Doug Joy Petersen and Matt Petersen, son Phil Petersen, his daughters, Melissa Chris Bertelson, Carrie Joe Rossing, and Amie Petersen, son Clayton and wife Jill Petersen, their children, Samantha, Ashley and Logan Petersen; daughter-in-law Kandee Scott Petersen, their children Randee Joe Lindeman, Grant Michelle Petersen, Jake Sara Petersen, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Lester Levi; sons, Douglas and Scott Petersen; and sister, Jean. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Oak Park Place for the wonderful care they gave Joanne.
