Bruce Wayne Kermes was born on December 28, 1929 in Oakland Township. He grew up in rural Oakland and graduated from Austin High School. On December 24, 1951 Bruce was united in marriage to Bonnie Huemoeller in Hayward, MN. Bruce worked for Wilson and Co., and also farmed. He worked at HyVee in his retirement. Bruce was a member of First Lutheran Church of Glenville, the Elks Lodge, and the Sunset Saddle Club. He enjoyed horses and raised Quarter Horses. He also liked fishing and deer hunting. Survivors include his wife Bonnie, children Steven (Shirley) Kermes and Julie (Marty) Vande Kamp; grandchildren Nicole, Elisa, Joshua, Valerie, Lucas, James, and Veronica; great-grandchildren Kennedy, Reagan, Ethan, Kiera, and Kaden; sister Miriam Wangen; sisters-in-law Lois (Ward) Bergene, Pat Huemoeller, and Alice Huemoeller; and many nieces and nephews.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents John and Helen Kermes, sister Betty (Winfred) Wangen, brother Jack (Lucetta) Kermes, and his brother-in-law Wallace Wangen.
