Brian Egeness

Brian Lee Egeness, 48, passed away at his home in Albert Lea on Saturday, July 20, 2024. A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. A visitation will be held the night before on Monday, July 29, 2024, from 5-7pm, along with an hour before the service. Pastor Don Malinsky will be officiating.

Brian graduated from ALHS in 1996 and went on to complete technical college to become a lifelong electrician. 

Brian married Anne Carlsen on September 1st, 2001, and together they welcomed their daughter Hailey Marie, and later they divorced. 

Some of Brian’s favorite things in the world were his daughter, keeping his nephew Tyler in check, playing “bags”, disc golf, fishing, golfing and most importantly having a Bud with his friends. He never went anywhere without his dogs. 

He was proceeded in death by his father Randy Egeness; stepfather Ricky Amundson; grandparents Wally and Florene Johnson, Fern Egeness, and Art Egeness. Uncles Jim (Sue) Johnson, and Gary Shuck; his good friend Mitch Brua. Hailey’s mom Anne Carlsen, and his dogs Zoey and Tiesha. 

Brian is survived in death by his daughter Hailey Egeness (Dylan Krueger) of Rochester MN; mother Judy Amundson of Albert Lea MN; brother Bruce (Shelly) Egeness of Albert Lea MN and sister Diana Newman of Albert Lea MN. His nieces and nephews Tyler Egeness of Albert Lea, Taylor Newman (Ryan) of Albert Lea, Trinity Newman (Michael) of Albert Lea, and Reese and Wally Egeness. Aunts and uncles John Johnson, Jody Johnson, Jean Bolinger, Jackie Shuck, and Dennis Egeness. Close cousin/adoptive sister-Krissy Knutson along with many other cousins and his dog Leah; along with his special friends Josh and Leslie Ignaszewski, Chuck and Amber Anderson, Dan and Ivy Evans, Dino DeSart and many more. 

Brian will forever remain in our hearts and on our minds.
