Funeral services for Betty Jean Casebolt, of rural Albert Lea, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Bear Lake Concordia Lutheran Church. Pastor Daphne Hamborg will officiate. Betty died Thursday, October 6, 2016 at St. Maryâs Hospital in Rochester. Her death was very sudden and unexpected.
Betty Jean Casebolt was born on June 4, 1931, in Emmons, Minnesota, the daughter of Martin and Myrtle (Helgeson) Madson. She was baptized and confirmed at Lime Creek Lutheran Church and graduated from Emmons High School. On January 7, 1951, Betty was united in marriage to Gary Casebolt. They lived and worked on the family farm for their entire lives. She enjoyed cooking, baking, especially making lefsa and Norwegian pastries for holidays, flower and vegetable gardening, and canning her produce. Betty loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Bear Lake Concordia Lutheran Church and active in church circles.
Betty is survived by daughters, Vicki (Jerry) Linde, Marla Casebolt, and Gayle (Bradley) Baalson; grandchildren, Melanie Linde, Kiersten Baalson, and Jacob Baalson; brother, Harris Madson; several cousins; and her favorite dog, Lucy.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gary; and brother, Marlin Madson, who was killed in action during the Korean War.
