Barbara Ann Lenz was born on September 8, 1938 to John McColloch Levens and Virginia Hamilton Walker Levens in Albert Lea. She attended school in Albert Lea. Then, for a short time Barbara lived in Florida and New Mexico. Barbara was united in marriage to Warren Lenz on November 25, 1955 at Ft. Sills, OK. After two years of military service the couple returned to reside in the Albert Lea area. Barbara worked as a nurse's aide at St. John's Lutheran Home. She loved to entertain family and friends in her home. Barbara also loved to baby-sit her grandchildren. She enjoyed working with older people, going out to eat with friends, reading, and doing crossword puzzles. Barbara was member of the family at Crossroads Evangelical Free Church. The family very much appreciated the care that her niece, Kim Marchand gave to both Barbara and her family during this time. Survivors include her husband, Warren; children, Marian Roche and husband Steven of Albert Lea, Kathleen Berning and husband Brian of Albert Lea, Warren Lenz, Jr. and wife Sarah of Albert Lea, Cheryl Somnis and husband Robert of Freeborn, and David Lenz and wife Naomi of Albert Lea; 12 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren; brother, John Levens and wife Jane of Ft Worth, TX; sister Virginia Kinstler and husband William of Graytown, OH; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; son, Allen Edward Lenz; granddaughter, Virginia; and sister, Janet Bolin.
