BARBARA ELLEN ERICKSON

 

Memorial services for Barbara Ellen Erickson, age 76, of Albert Lea will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church.  Rev. Curtis Zieske will officiate.  Interment will be at a later date.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  

 

Barbara died Monday, March 21, 2011 at the Albert Lea Medical Center.

 

Barbara Ellen Erickson was born on May 29, 1934 to Clifford and Lila (Childers) Jondall in Roland, IA.  She grew up in Roland, IA and attended Roland Consolidated Schools.  In 1953 Barbara was married to Wilmer “Bill” Charlson, they later divorced.  In 1959, Barbara moved to Albert Lea where she worked at Desoto egg plant.  On September 12, 1981 she was united in marriage to Gary Erickson.  Barbara later worked at Land O Lakes where she eventually retired from.  Barbara was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the VFW and Legion Auxiliary.  She enjoyed watching the Twins, Vikings, Game Show network and playing intelevision.  Barbara also enjoyed golfing, sewing, fishing and spending time with her family.  

 

Survivors include her husband, Gary Erickson of Albert Lea; children, Mike (Netta) Charlson, Deb Chance, Larry (Pat) Charlson and Dawn (Mike) Cobb; grandchildren, Ben (Tanya) Charlson, Luke Charlson, Jackie Larson, Clint (April) Chance, Billy Kiel, Cameryn Cobb and Ciara Cobb; 10 great-grandchildren; step children, Debbie (Perry) Gregory, Cindy (Rick) Babcock, Linda (Larry) Miller and Garry (Jill) Erickson; 7 step grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; siblings, Loren (Joyce) Jondall, Dolores (Jim) McCarty and Norma Sexe.

 

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dorothy (Phil) Sexe; brother-in-law, Duane Sexe; and nephews, Rick Jondall and David Sexe.

 

Grandma loved life and will be greatly missed by all.
