Arvin Marlowe Thompson was born on February 28, 1918 to Marvel and Clara Anderson Thompson in Ellendale. Arvin grew up in the Ellendale area and farmed with his father. On July 28, 1941 he was united in marriage to Eileen Burshem in Ellendale. Arvin farmed all of his life. Arvin loved his family and the time spent with them. He always made it to all of his children's school events. Everyone who met Arvin loved him. Arvin was a great family man and never lost his love for farming. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Ellendale and served on the Creamery Board for 25 years. He also enjoyed watching the Twins. Survivors include his wife, Eileen; sons, Andy Leslie Thompson and Tim Thompson; grandchildren, Julie and Jeff; great-grandchildren, Andie Scout, Mason, Max, and Gray; sisters-in-law, Alice Dugan, Luella Thompson and Helia Burshem. Arvin was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Ann at birth; parents Marvel and Clara Thompson and brothers, Norris and Marlowe.
