Arlene M. Flatness

Arlene M. Flatness was born December 13, 1933, in Albert Lea to Raymond and Louise Kramer Burkart. She was united in marriage to Glenn Flatness on November 11, 1950, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Through their 56 years together, Glenn and Arlene raised seven sons. Arlene had worked as a cook and nurse's aid. She especially loved taking care of others. Arlene also enjoyed traveling, needlework, cooking, and especially spending time with her family. She was a huge Elvis Presley fan. Survivors include her husband, Glenn; sons: Allan and his wife, Julie, Dean, Jerry and his wife, Kim, Kent and his special friend, Alzada, Arden and his wife, Thea, all of Albert Lea, and Lynn of Mason City, IA. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Margaret; grandchildren: Allison and Jason Evans, Erin and Corey Cummings, Valerie and special friend, Jason, Brianne and Brian Arendt, and Jordan and special friend, Patricia, April and Justin Bighley and Hollie, Jay and Brady, Crystal and Corey Farris, Carolyn and Cory, and Seri; great-grandchildren: Alexander, Aidan, Andrew, Bryn, Maggie, Elijah, Ethan, Christian, Jacob, Luke, and Alannah; sister, Rose and her husband, Fred Tetzlaff of Oklahoma City; sisters-in-law, Elaine Burkart and Diane Burkart of Albert Lea; brothers-in-law, Kenny and his wife, Arlene Flatness of Albert Lea and Rodney Jenson of Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Louise; a sister in infancy; son, Wayne; father and mother-in-law, Palmer and Hattie; brothers, Dick and Gary; brothers-in-law, Irving and his wife, Olga and Morris and his wife, Louise; and sisters-in law, Doris Jenson and Arlene and her husband, Roger Saltou.
