Annie Marie Engebretson

July 8, 1925 — May 1, 2012

Funeral services for Annie Marie Engebretson, age 86, of Albert Lea will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Faith Baptist Church.  Rev. Dennis Seiler will officiate.  Interment will be at the Bohemian National Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Annie died Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Mayo Clinic Health System Albert Lea.

Annie Marie Engebretson was born on July 8, 1925 in Jasper County, Iowa the daughter of Case and Cobie (DeKonning) Reynen, Jr.  She moved with her family as a child to the Hollandale area near Lake Geneva.  Annie graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1943.  She went to college in Pella, Iowa.  On February 14, 1947 she was united in marriage to Harold Engebretson in Hollandale.  The couple farmed together near Myrtle for eight years.  They then moved to Hartland where they ran a plumbing and heating shop.  After moving again to Minneapolis, Annie worked in New Brighton.  Then the couple bought an acreage near Anoka where they had a huge garden which Annie loved working in.  Annie worked in ad sales for a Catholic magazine until her retirement.   They then moved to Albert Lea in 1998 to be closer to family and friends.  Annie was a member of Faith Baptist Church.  She enjoyed gardening, sewing, fishing and Annie loved spending time with her family.  She will be dearly missed by all.

Survivors include her daughter Cindy (Calvin) Belshan of Glenville; grandchildren, Dr. Holley (Reid) Bermel of West Des Moines, IA, Neil Belshan of Albert Lea and Daryl (Kristyna) Belshan of Plainfield, IL; great-grandchildren, Autumn and Evan Bermel and Rachel, Carter and Emmalyn Belshan; sister Tillie Peterson of Albert Lea; brother John Reynen of Belvedere, IL; several nieces and nephews.

Annie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harold; sisters Bertha Tello, Louise Ulstad and Dorothy Emery.
