Anna B. Kycek was born October 10, 1913, to Thor and Rachel Severtson Thorson in Morris, Illinois. She had worked as a housemaid and at "Ole's" grocery store in Glenville. On April 18, 1941, Anna was united in marriage to Arnold A. Kycek in Mason City, Iowa. While Arnold was in the service during World War II, Anna worked at the American Gas Co. In 1952, they were blessed with the addition to their family with the adoption of Bonnie and Peggy. After their retirement, they enjoyed spending time camping and fishing. Family was very important to Anna and she loved baking for them. Survivors include her daughters, Bonnie Jason Cramer of Webster City, IA, and Peggy Johnson of Minneapolis and their sister, Sandra Greg Larkin and daughters, Sara and Jennifer; grandchildren: Dayna Jason LaRue and their son, Zachary, Scott Hoffman and his children, Ashley and Cody, Jason Shannon Hoffman and their children, Austin and Anna, Angela Reese and her son, Macias, Pamela Rusty Balthaser and their son, Ezra, and Nathan Reese and his children, Kathryn and Christopher; sister, Thelma Bighley; and several nieces and nephews. Anna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arnold in 1993; granddaughter, Valerie Anne; sister, Cora and her husband, Cecil Williamson; brother, Oscar and his wife, Esther Thorson; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ed and Mary Kycek; and brother-in-law, Delevan Bighley. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Grace Lutheran Church. "Lift up your heart and share with me. God wanted me now, He set me free."
