Amy Rae Kenis

Memorial services for Amy Rae Kenis, age 33, of Duluth will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Chapel.  Rev. Don Malinsky will officiate.  Interment will be at a later date.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. 

Amy passed away unexpectedly on March 19, 2011 shortly after breakfast. 

Amy Rae Kenis was born on July 5, 1977 to Gregory and Karen (Courrier) Kenis. She was raised in Albert Lea, MN. Amy was baptized and confirmed at United Methodist Church in Albert Lea, MN. She graduated from Albert Lea High School and attended Ridgewater College in Willmar, MN.  She was living a fulfilling life in Duluth, MN and enjoyed the group home where she was living. She enjoyed the Duluth area and what it had to offer. She enjoyed the neighborhood deer, one of which she named Apple. She also had a guinea pig that she was raising. She knew the out of the way and unique places to visit within the city itself. Amy always had a smile on her face and a joke to tell along with her infectious laugh. Amy had a big heart and a very kind soul. She was a very caring person to all that knew her. Amy had previously worked at Dominos Pizza in Albert Lea and enjoyed making and delivering pizzas.

Survivors include her mother, Karen and husband Joe Roberts; step-mother, Lois Lee Kenis; sisters Sarah Kenis and Katie (Roberts) Kluender; grandparents, Charles and Lorna ("Jimmie") Kenis, Orville and Margaret Courrier; and special grandpa, Milt Roberts; aunts and uncles, Michael (Peggy) Kenis, Vicki (Steve) Westrum, Jenifer (Bob) Prince, special aunt, Becki (Martin) Norwood, and Randy Courrier; "The Cousins" Joe (Mary Beth) Kenis, Paul (Kristi) Kenis, Brian (Chrissy) Kenis, Rachael Kenis, Brad (Carrie) Westrum, Mark (Kelly) Westrum, Brett (Megan) Westrum, Jillyse Prince (Matt) Wangerin, Samuel Prince, Jacob Courrier, Joshua Courrier, and Jesse Courrier.

Amy was preceded in death by her father, Greg Kenis and brother David Kenis.
