Alison Diana Seaton

Alison Diana Seaton was born May 20, 1916 in Conger, MN the daughter of Earl and Helen (Howe) Stevens. She has been a resident of Freeborn County all of her life. She was baptized at home by the pastor from Concordia Lutheran, Pickerel Lake, and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Alden. She has been a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Albert Lea since 1960.
Alison attended school in Conger and Alden, graduating in 1934. On June 3, 1938, she was united in marriage to Robert Lee Seaton at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. She and her husband farmed in the Conger and Manchester areas from 1941 to 1959 when they moved to Albert Lea. Alison was employed at the Spurgeon’s Store for 16 years, retiring in 1978. They had a trailer on Saber Lake in Kilkenny, MN. They would often go there for summer weekend fishing trips with their grandchildren. They spent nine winters in the McAllen, TX area. Alison enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Minnesota Twins. She also enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards, visiting with friends, and walking with her friend Alberta.
Survivors include her children Amy (Wayne) Larson of Albert Lea, and Dennis (Harriet) Seaton of Emmons; grandchildren Sally Johnson (Brad Rieken) of rural Austin, Ramona (Paul) Schmidt of Leland, IA, Sherry Williamson of Glenville, and Perry Johnson (Andrea Post) of Spring Valley; great-grandchildren Jordan and Dylan Williamson of Glenville and Sara and Natalie Schmidt of Leland; and nieces and nephews.
Alison was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert in 1991, great-grandson Tyler Johnson, brother Norman Stevens, sisters Helen Marpe, Shirley Wichmann, and Erlis Bear; and special friend Amos Christianson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Salem Lutheran Church or the Alden Cemetery.
