Alice Van Engelenburg was born March 20, 1917, to Herman and Gertdina Eertink Ravenhorst in Nyverdal, Netherlands. She came to the United States at the age of 3 with her father and her brother. Alice was a lifelong resident of the Hollandale area and attended Hollandale Public School. On October 24, 1946, she was united in marriage to Marvin Van Engelenburg in Hollandale. Alice was a member of the Hollandale Reformed Church and enjoyed quilting, reading, gardening, and especially being with her grandchildren. Survivors include her son, Ronald Van Engelenburg of Albert Lea; daughter, Susan and her husband, Randy Campbell of Mobile, Alabama; grandchildren: Nathan Van Engelenburg and Kaitlin, Scott, and David Campbell; sister-in-law, Cornelia Ravenhorst of Hollandale; brothers-in-law, Evert and his wife, Doris Van Engelenburg of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Harold and his wife Alice Pepperling of Hollandale; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin; brother, Henry Ravenhorst; sisters-in-law: Bertha Pepperling, Henrietta Lovett, and Betty Lou Allen; and brothers-in-law, Gerrit and Harold Van Engelenburg, Russell Lovett, and Lloyd Ole Allen. Memorials are preferred to the Oak Park Place or the Hollandale Reformed Church.
