Alfred Carl Skatter was born on April 9, 1921 in Joice, Iowa, the son of Otto and Gunhild (Norsrud) Skatter. As a young man Alfred served in the US Army during WWII. On October 12, 1949 he was united in marriage to Bernice Hanson at Trinity Lutheran Church. He began farming after his discharge from the service. In 1955 the couple moved into Albert Lea where he began working at Streaterâs as an installation foreman. He also did independent carpentry work. Alfred enjoyed woodworking and yard work. His gift was the abilityto build anything he saw. Blessed be his memory.
Survivors include his sons, Paul (Cheryl) and David (Debbie); grandchildren, Amy (Randy) Gorka, Heather Skatter and Jennifer (Phil) Knight; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Ryan and Connor.
Alfred was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bernice; two brothers and three sisters.
