Aldean John Brown

Aldean John Brown was born on February 7, 1926 in Faribault County, the son of Arnold and Margaret Gudahl Brown. He grew up in Albert Lea and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1944. Immediately following graduation Al joined the U.S. Navy where he served his country on a P.T. Boat, receiving his discharge in 1946. On February 27, 1948 Al was united in marriage to Irene Clemetson at the First Lutheran Parsonage. Al worked for Universal Milking Machine Co. in the office when they were first married. He later went to work for Streater's as a warehouseman, retiring from there after 27 years. He was a life-long member of First Lutheran Church and was active there as the Treasurer of the Friends of First group. Al was a member of the American Legion where he was a past commander, served on the board of directors for Naeve Hospital and was a past president there, was a former president of the Albert Lea Hockey Association, and was a member of the Golden K Kiwanis, serving there as secretary. Al enjoyed politics and sports. Survivors include his wife Irene, children Jodi Gary Pericak and Paul Sue Brown; grandchildren Jason Mandy Pericak, Annie Jeff Bolton, Angie Zimmerman, David Brown, and Evan Brown; great-grandchildren Lillie and Emma Bolton, Kamryn Brown, Sean Zimmerman and Emma Zimmerman; brothers Gerald Brown and Robert Dorothy Brown, and many nieces and nephews. Al was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Irene. Memorials are preferred to First Lutheran Church.
