Funeral services for Adriana Funfar, age 86, of Glenville will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 31, 2010 at the Albert Lea United Methodist Church. Pastor Deb Miller will officiate. Interment will be in the Bohemian National Cemetery, Myrtle. Visitation will be from 6 – 8:00 p.m, Thursday, December 30, 2010 at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Adriana died on Tuesday, December 28,2010, with family at her side, at the Nora Springs Care Center in Nora Springs, IA.
Adriana Funfar was born on November 30, 1924 in Sheldon, IA to Arie and Jenny (Roelofs) Wildeman. She spent most of her childhood living in rural IA. She was united in marriage to Willie Funfar on September 23, 1943 in Austin, MN. They resided at the Funfar farm near Glenville, MN where they raised their two daughters. They were later blessed with 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Adriana had a strong Christian faith and was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church of Glenville, MN. She was a member of the Sunshine Circle, the Royal Neighbors Club and a mother's club. She had a great love for animals, gardening, her apple trees, and most of all her family. She devoted her life to being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her smile was warm and her heart open to all.
She was known for her hospitality. Everyone enjoyed sitting in her kitchen visiting over coffee and cookies. She loved to bake, especially "great-grandma buns." She was a wonderful listener. She always had time for anyone who needed a shoulder to lean on. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband Willie of Glenville, her children Margaret (Glenn) Nielsen of McFarland, WI, and Judi Funfar of Charles City, IA, grandchildren Jennifer (Matt) Snow, Dan Nielsen, Stephen Nielsen, Heather (Chad) Lapolice, and Aaron (Cindy) Mason, great-grandchildren Luke and Arie Snow, Derek and Dylan Lapolice, and Adric and Elyse Mason, six nephews and a niece.
Adriana was preceded in death by her parents, her granddaughter Heide Mason, sister Johanna Prizler and brother Art Wildeman.
